Gronks declare war

Gronks on the road to victory

A Proposed Timeline (Erica) version 1

[this is a sketch. i don't know if it's right and I don't know if it helps. And not all of it is even canon. but I'm gonna write it down cause it is one option.]

  • Humans learn of Nomalis, a miraculous life-giving planet (potentially they learn this from the Tome, which at some point here is in the hands of the LPC.)
  • Humans, aided perhaps by Sigred and Tamnayal, travel to Nomalis.
  • Tamnayal is, if not in contact with, presumably aware of the Gronks being sapient because of her psionic abilities, but choses to tell no one. She only tells them it is inhabited.
  • Humans find that Nomalis is inhabited by the sapient Gronks, who attack the human ships, killing Sigred. Option for a misunderstanding causes this show of violence.
  • The humans fight back, initially gaining the upper hand and gaining some control over parts of Nomalis.
  • The Gronks declare war on humans.
  • The Gronks rally and push back against human occupation, leveling the playing field and then turning the tables completely.
  • A young Kallisto's parents are killed, but Kallisto, presumably in home or ship wreckage, is taken in by the Gronks.
  • The humans retreat (?), speeding back to Earth at near light speed. On Nomalis, the Gronks begin receiving strange visions from Salvador, the Earth's sun, calling them to come and harvest it (? must confirm). Kallisto ages and assimilates into Gronk society, and takes on an important role in the eventual pursuit.
  • The Gronks begin preparing to warp to earth (either by use of a gate, or some kind of warp drive).
  • Tamnayal, with very little relative time having past, arrives back on earth

[ WAIT I HAVEN'T YET WRAPPED MY MIND around how the Gronk pursuit would work. How many years after would they actually arrive, etc ]

POST TIME""SKIP"":

  • Officials of Earth and the LPC recognize Tamnayal's talents and enlist her to help fight back against an impending (or present) Gronk invasion. They give her an apprentice, Emile, to train, hoping he will surpass her skills.
  • Tamnayal begins to train Emile.
  • The LPC realizes that Tamnayal may be able to understand The Forgotten Tome better than they can, and perhaps think it may lend some insights into the nature of the Gronks and how best to combat their forces. Tamnayal's telepathy and ability to reach out mentally toward the Gronks may allow her to better understand the book.
  • The LPC gives Tamnayal The Forgotten Tome. Tamnayal quickly becomes engrossed and begins to neglect her role as teacher to Emile.
  • Despite the death of Sigred, her lover, by the hands of the Gronks, Tamnayal may here begin to be swayed by whatever she finds in the Tome, and perhaps it is here she starts wanting the Gronks to win.
  • A masquerade ball is held to honor or represent [???],
  • Kallisto
  • Gronk ships arrive in the Sol system.
  • Presumably, the Gronks and humans wage war during this period. Despite this, Tamnayal and Kallisto's connection continues to grow.
  • The Master and their students are stationed at The Compound, where Gronk prisoners of war are held.
  • The LPC throws a wrench in (or perhaps just badly organizes) peace talks between the Gronks and the humans, doing nothing to decrease tensions.
  • At the same time, the LPC expect (or want) things to move quickly (?)
  • Presumably fighting dies down a little, and Emile is present at a banquet which both humans and Gronks are to attend. Emile forgetting that carrots are a taboo dinner food results in the human effort being ill received.
  • There is a battle between humans and Gronks that either involves Emile running a mission, OR they go to wherever he is to capture him.
  • Emile is captured and imprisoned by the Gronks.

  • Emile offers to hug Dundra, which is refused, though Dundra comes close to accepting.

  • At some point (perhaps only in visions of the future?) it is implied that Tristian is destroyed.

AUGH I SHOULD SLEEP
