The reasons for the Gronk invasion are not explicitly outlined in the show (yet. They are found in the art book). I mention this is (maybe) because they refuse to ever speak ill of their sun, which is what is causing their problems.

"Salvador called to us, Salvador CHOSE us, Salvador promised us prosperity that our own Tristian was unable to provide!" is a quote from the rally speech at the/a Gronk launch of some kind, implying either that other Gronks are receiving Salvador's call, or Dundra received the call without the order/suggestion to betray their people, and passed that along.
